Privacy
PayPerScreen checks names, crypto wallets, email addresses and IP addresses for you. To do that we have to handle the details you send us. This page says plainly what we keep, who else sees it and how to have it removed.
Last updated 11 October 2026.
What we store
| The checks you run | What you submitted (a name with optional date of birth and nationality, a wallet address, an email address or an IP address), which lists or signals were checked, the result, the price paid and the payment transaction. Each check gets a reference and a fingerprint (hash) so it can be verified later and can't be quietly changed. |
| Payments | The wallet address that paid and the transaction on the Base network. Blockchain transactions are public by nature and can't be deleted by anyone, including us. |
| Prepaid balances | The wallet address that holds the balance and a ledger of top-ups, charges and refunds. |
| Accounts | If we invite you to a case queue: your email address, the checks linked to your account, and what you decided about each one (cleared or escalated). |
| Site visits | Which page was viewed, the referring site and a coarse browser and device label. We don't store your IP address: a visitor is counted with a one-way code that changes every day, so we can't follow anyone across days. |
Cookies
Only the ones needed for sign-in: one when you're signed in to a case queue, one when you're signed in to a prepaid balance with your wallet, and one for our own admin. No advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party scripts or fonts load on this site.
Who else sees it
- Sanctions lists (OFAC, UN, EU, UK) are downloaded to our own database. Names you screen are matched there and not sent to anyone.
- Email and IP checks need outside lookups. The domain or IP address is sent to public services such as DNS, domain registration records (RDAP), certificate logs (crt.sh) and the Spamhaus blocklist, and an email check asks the domain's own mail server whether the mailbox exists. No message is ever sent to the address.
- Payments are settled by Coinbase's x402 payment service on the Base network.
- Hosting: the site and its database run on Railway.
We don't sell or rent any of this, and we don't use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
| Check records | 5 years after the check, so you or your auditor can verify it later with its reference. That matches the usual record-keeping period for anti-money-laundering checks. |
| Payments and prepaid balances | 7 years, as Dutch tax law requires for financial records. |
| Site visit statistics | 13 months. |
| Sign-in links and sessions | Deleted once they expire. |
Older records are deleted automatically every day. You can ask us to delete any record sooner, or everything linked to your account or wallet, at any time, unless the law requires us to keep it. Transactions on the blockchain are public and can't be deleted by anyone.
Screening other people
When you screen someone, you decide why and on what basis, so for that person's data you are responsible for having a reason to check them. We process it only to run the check and keep its record for you.
Your rights and how to reach us
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, or object to how it's used. Email hello@albatrossletter.com and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority. In the Netherlands that's the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
